It's a Beautiful Day

by Laurence Diehl

/

about

Although I wasn’t consciously writing this tune in any particular style, both the
melody and chord structure are reminiscent of the romantic period of the
nineteenth century. I think composers like Chopin and Francisco Tárrega come to
mind. The use of suspended chords, diminished seventh and the augmented triad
in particularly, point to music from that era.
